WHO IS DOCTOR STEMMY McSTEMFACE?

When I was about 5 years old, I watched a cartoon called "Punkin' Puss & Mushmouse."  This cartoon was essentially a Hillbilly version of Tom & Jerry, and each episode involving the cat trying to deal with the mouse.

One episode had the mouse order a "Boxing Kangaroo" off the back of a cereal box.  And of course when the kangaroo showed up, the mouse dressed him like a larger version of himself.  I was enthralled with this idea.

So, with the help of my parents, because I could barely read and write, I wrote our local kids show in Chicago called, "The Ray Rayner Show," which showed this cartoon, and Ray would answer kids questions.  I wrote the show so he could provide me with a way to contact the Australian government.

A few weeks later, while watching the show, Ray Rayner provided me with the address.  On TV.  Like I said, it was a local show.

So, I wrote the Australian government, and requested that they send me a boxing kangaroo.

Months went by, and I completely forgot about this because I had the attention of a 5 year old.

Well, one day I came home from school, and my parents told me I had a special letter, and pointed out the THICK envelope on the dining room table.

It was from the Australian Government.

I tore open the envelope, and found a really nice letter kindly explaining to me why they couldn't send me a boxing kangaroo, but thought I might like to have all these brochures about kangaroos, as well as these travel brochures about Australia.

I was overjoyed!

But I never gave up on having a boxing kangaroo.

Now, all these years later, I decided to create one.  And Doctor Stemmy McStemface will help me share my ideas, designs, and my support for all things STEM.  She'll also let you know which products have pockets!
